These kind of cases usually fall under the purview of neurologists. It is then the duty of the doctor to find out if it is indeed a case of migraine or not. For this he may want to ask you to do a few tests to be sure.

If your doctor has prescribed a few medicines for your condition then it is best to take the medicines the moment you realize that you are having a migraine pain. Rest is a major way to reduce the pain. It is ideal to take rest by lying down on a bed in a room which is devoid of light.

Doctors usually prescribe medicines such as ibuprofenor or aspirin. It is advised that any medicine that you may consider taking should only be taken after consulting a doctor. You should only take as much of the medicine as told by the doctor or mentioned on the cover of the medicine.

Natural Remedies to Treat Migraines

Rest and relaxation is one of the best ways to reduce the pain caused by a migraine attack. While having some caffeine can help reduce the pain temporarily but you must remember taking too much caffeine for long periods of time can actually be counterproductive as it can act as a trigger to it. Some of the more conventional methods of relaxation are a better option than consuming caffeine. A head massage can do wonders to relax the body and the mind. You could also try acupuncture or cognitive behavioral therapy.
